Far Cry was the first game of Ubisoft’s popular video game franchise, and was truly revolutionary back in 2004 thanks to its then cutting edge graphics, large open maps and realistic first person action gameplay. It was also one truly difficult game thanks to the advanced AI of the game’s opponents, as dealing with villain Dr. Krieger’s mercenaries was truly a test of skill…

Far Cry’s action was really intense and violent as well, and some of the game’s goriest details (such as the blood effects of corpses floating in water and the way dead enemy bodies would react to gunshots) upset the censors in Germany, as the game was briefly banned for a while, although a censored version of Far Cry was eventually available for sale in the country.
