5. Wolfenstein II: The New Colossus
So, it’s clear expectations are pretty high for developer MachineGames’ sequel, which is arriving this fall on consoles on PC. The big novelty here is that The New Colossus is set in a Nazi-occupied US, and taking control of protagonist B.J. Blazkowicz you have to rally the resistance and expel the Nazi invaders from America. And it’s clear that if Wolfenstein II manages to offer the same mix of exciting first-person action, great cinematic cutscenes and badass guns, this could be one of the year’s top video game hits. Plus, owners of an Xbox One X will be able to enjoy better visuals thanks to support for 4K resolutions and HDR, likely making this one of the prettiest games to hit shelves in 2017.
