3. Better graphics and locations

Dark Souls 3 will be the first game in the series to be released for new-gen hardware and PC only (its predecessor Dark Souls 2 was a cross-generation game and also came out on Xbox 360 and PS3), meaning it’s likely that Japanese designer Hidetaka Miyazaki’s game will look prettier than ever. And even if the Dark Souls games have always been more about their great atmospheric settings than about cutting-edge graphics, it is likely that this new Dark Souls game will feature some pretty spectacular graphics and locations.

The game will likely take a tip or two from Bloodborne’s Lovecraftian-inspired world, and will feature large, detailed locations like the Firelink Shrine seen in the image above, which players reach after defeating the game’s first boss, and where they can upgrade their Estus Flags and buy armour and other items.
