Although video game movies are usually not the critics’ favourites, they have typically fared well with audiences and many have been box office hits. After all, only a minimal plot and a few cool action sequences are needed to please fans of the video game. 1. Angelina Jolie
It’s not that Angelina Jolie is not a talented actress. After all, she won an academy award for the movie Girl, Interrupted. And she was even made an honorary dame by the Queen of England for her, ehem, human rights advocacy. The problem is that sometimes her fame has been due to dubious publicity stunts, such as that kiss with her brother, her marriage to macho actor Brad Pitt or her relationship with female Calvin Klein model Jenny Shimizu.
But when she gets down to business, she can really act. And thankfully she delighted video game fans by playing Lara Croft in the Tomb Raider movie and its sequel. As you know Lara is something of a sex symbol in the video game world, and Angelina Jolie certainly had the gorgeous physique to play the famous heroine.
