Most would agree that The Witcher 3 is one of the most atmospheric games made to date. Actually, visiting cities like Novigrad at night or tavern interiors is a truly immersive experience. But some may have found the lightning a bit off during night-time or in the interior of one of The Witcher 3’s seedy inns, though. Actually, it can be argued that nights in The Witcher 3 are a bit too bright for their own good, while establishments at night are also unnaturally well-light.
So one enterprising mod author has laboured hard to make the nights in developer CD Projekt Red’s masterpiece more atmospheric, basically by making them as dark as they should be, and by improving the quality of visual effects too. So light sources like candles and guard torches (see video below) are now suitably muted, turning the game into a more atmospheric (and more beautiful too) experience at night.
