Dark Souls 3: The Ringed City gameplay footage shows enemies and setting

Many Dark Souls fans were disappointed when series’ creator Hidetaka Miyazaki said that Dark Souls 3 would be the final game in the series. But at least developer From Software has released additional content for the game, as last year we got the pretty good Ashes of Arandiel expansion, while the final piece of DLC for the game will be hitting the shelves in March this year.

This upcoming expansion, which is titled “The Ringed City”, will offer new settings, enemies and secrets to discover according to publisher Bandai Namco. And is typical with the Dark Souls games, it will also likely present a formidable challenge for players, as game designer Miyazaki’s series is famous for its uncompromising difficulty.

The Ringed City expansion also looks like it will feature new interesting enemies to put down, like the flying creature making use of ranged attacks seen in the trailer, and also a menacing-looking knight with a flaming sword. There’s also a big demonic creature with fire-based attacks which could be one of the game’s new (and undoubtedly hard to put down) bosses, while the city itself does look like it will be an impressive new setting for this new Dark Souls adventure.

So hopefully The Ringed City DLC will be a good farewell to the Dark Souls series, and a worthy expansion for one of last year’s best video games when it’s released later this year.

Note: Dark Souls III: The Ringed City will be released on March 28, 2017. Available on PS4, Xbox One and PC.
