The votes have been cast, and even though many great games were seen at the E3 show this year in Los Angeles, only one can be top of the lot.
This game is Resident Evil 2, which according to the Game Critics Awards was the best piece of entertainment software seen in L.A. last month.
And there’s no doubt that Capcom’s game is looking good, a big-budget remake of one of the best Resident Evil games made to date. We thought this was one of the top games at E3 2018 coming in 2019, so here’s hoping it manages to capture the magic of the original Resident Evil 2 game when it hits shelves early next year.
Other games which won awards include Dreams by dev Media Molecule, a cute sandbox game by the makers of LittleBigPlanet, which may have flown under your radar to date and which is slated for release later in 2018.
Also, online multiplayer legend Fortnite won the “Best Ongoing Game” award.
Of course, there’s also The Last of Us Part II, which was honoured due to its graphics and sound, and Ghost of Tsushima, another interesting PS4 exclusive which was singled out due to its visuals at this year’s E3.
Overall, most awards went to PS4 games (a total of 17), proving how Sony’s console, which has shifted more than 60 million units to date, is the dominant gaming platform these days. Meanwhile, Sony Interactive was also the most lauded video game company, picking up a total of 6 awards.
