Latest Assassin’s Creed movie clip deals in secret societies

The Assassin’s Creed video games have always been about secret societies, and how these have strived to control the world and influence events in history. And this latest Assassin’s Creed movie clip discusses several, ironically enough, well-known secret societies such as the Freemasons (of which the 1st US president George Washington was reportedly a member), the much-feared Illuminati, which has featured in so many conspiracy theories, and the enigmatic Skull and Bones.

Of course, the video then moves to both the Templar Order and the Assassin Brotherhood, the latter of which adheres to a series of tenets known as “Assassin’s Creed” (which give both the movie and video game series their name), while the former is an all-powerful organization hell-bent on world domination.

We also see that protagonist Callum Lynch’s (who’s played by actor Michael Fassbender) ancestor Aguilar will be going up against the Templar-run Spanish Inquisition in the 15th century, with the movie’s action scenes set in this era looking pretty spectacular in this movie clip.

Of course, director Justin Kurzel’s movie has already been criticized for not spending enough time in its 15th century setting, as most of the movie takes place in the grey corridors of the evil Templar corporation Abstergo.

This is a movie that fans of Assassin’s Creed will likely want to see anyway though, as it brings one of the most popular video game franchises of all time to the silver screen, and also appears to be a visually stunning film with some great stunt work and decent action sequences packed into its running time.
