It’s been a long time coming, but the next Pirates of the Caribbean movie will be hitting the theatres this May much to the delight of Johnny Depp fans the world over. This new movie also brings back veteran actor Orlando Bloom, who reprises his role from the first three Pirates movies, and some new faces.
Aside from Orlando Bloom, there’s actor Javier Bardem, who plays pirate Jack Sparrow’s new adversary Captain Salazar, plus actress Kaya Scodelario will also be starring in this upcoming Pirates of the Caribbean movie.
Scodelario plays resourceful astronomer Carina Smyth, who will be aiding Jack Sparrow in his quest to find the Trident of Poseidon, the weapon he needs to fend off Salazar and his undead minions. Sadly, though, Scodelario seems reduced to being a damsel in distress in this new Pirates movie, at least judging by the movie’s latest theatrical trailer (see below).
Captain Salazar and his cronies won’t be Jack Sparrow’s only adversaries in this movie, and this trailer shows he’ll also be facing undead sharks in this film… And it will sure be fun to see how everyone’s pirate captain deals with this and other dangers in this upcoming movie directed by Norwegian duo Joachim Ronning and Espen Sandberg (Kon-Tiki) when it hits the theatres this May.
