Most video game fans have heard of the Batman: Arkham games. After all, the series has offered incredible action and adventure over the years. And since the debut of Batman: Arkham Asylum in 2009, fans have been looking forward to each successive entry in the series.
But which of these games is the definitive Batman experience? This is a matter of debate of course, and even though the Arkham games have generally been great, only one can be the best. So without further ado, here follows a list of the Batman: Arkham games, ranked from least good to top of the pile.
Batman: Arkham Origins (2013)

It’s hard not to think of the word “cash-in” when it comes to Batman: Arkham Origins. Because while Rocksteady took a break after the phenomenally successful Batman: Arkham City, Warner Bros. rushed Origins to market in late 2013. And the result definitely is not pretty.
Actually, this just feels like a cheap clone of Rocksteady’s earlier Batman games, but with none of the magic, and all of the tedium. The city is made bigger here for the sake of it, making it tedious to navigate from one point to the other, while the story involving villains Black Mask, Deathstroke and others is mostly generic DC Comics stuff. It does have its moments though, and actor Troy Baker is truly great as the Joker in this origin story, while the free-flow combat is as good as ever. But in the end this is a Batman game that failed to deliver, and ended up being a stopgap until the more capable Batman: Arkham Knight was released a few years later.
