Resident Evil: The Final Chapter clip shows the Hive

A new clip has been released for the upcoming Resident Evil: The Final Chapter movie, which will be hitting the theatres later this month. And unlike earlier movies in the franchise like Resident Evil: Apocalypse (arguably the best Resident Evil movie to date), The Final Chapter will be set in the Hive, the secret underground laboratory which was the main setting of the original 2002 Resident Evil movie.

Judging by this latest clip, it appears this will be a more claustrophobic movie in the vein of James Cameron’s Aliens film, while director Paul W.S. Anderson has also hinted that The Final Chapter could be a great finale to the series.

It remains to be seen though, whether this will be an action-packed movie with plenty of tense moments like Anderson’s earlier films were, and whether the director will be able to deliver a zombie movie that lives up to his 2002 original when it comes to drama and action…

But it is likely that fans of the series will flock to the theatres anyway (after all the Resident Evil movies are amongst the top-grossing Hollywood B-movies in history), if only to find out how things finally turn out for protagonist Alice and other characters like Claire Redfield, as it’s likely that Resident Evil: The Final Chapter could be the final movie of the franchise.

This could also be a big month for Resident Evil fans, as not only Paul Anderson’s movie will be hitting the theatres, but a new game in the series titled Resident Evil 7: Biohazard will also be released in January, meaning this could be a year to remember for fans of the long-running horror franchise.
