Few would deny that the Resident Evil franchise is one of the most successful and best-known in gaming, with the Resident Evil games being some of the most played and loved in the history of video games.
Of course, there’s also the movie series starring actress Milla Jovovich, which has undoubtedly become a worldwide phenomenon, with these movies being amongst the top-grossing in Hollywood history. The success of the Resident Evil movies is in no small part to actress Milla Jovovich sexy character Alice, a leading lady who’s right up there with Angelina Jolie’s Lara Croft when it comes to kicking butt onscreen…
And Milla Jovovich is set to return to the silver screen in Resident Evil: The Final Chapter, the last movie of this long-running franchise, with Paul Anderson (who is Milla Jovovich’s real-life husband) returning to the director’s chair for this final instalment which comes out in January next year.
In the movie’s latest theatrical trailer we see the that leading character Alice is still an ass-kicking heroine, as she’s seen dealing with a gigantic flying creature (which was first seen in the earlier Resident Evil: Retribution), fighting a legion of zombies with incendiary weapons, and taking on the leader of the evil Umbrella Corporation Albert Wesker (Shawn Roberts).
Of course, Alice won’t be alone in her journey as she will be joined by a stellar cast including Ali Tarter (who reprises her role as Claire Redfield), and Iain Glen of Game of Thrones fame (who plays Dr. Isaacs), plus director Paul Anderson has hinted that this final movie might very well be the best of the lot.
So this will certainly be one movie to watch out for when it hits the theatres, especially for those who’ve been following this long-running movie series and are looking forward to find out how protagonist Alice’s journey ends early next year.
