If one thing is clear, is that Danish actor Mads Mikkelsen is one of the top actors in Hollywood right now, and will be appearing in the eagerly awaited Star Wars spin off movie Rogue One, which is slated for release this December.

Of course, video game fans also know now that Mikkelsen will be featuring in Japanese designer’s Hideo Kojima game Death Stranding too, as the actor appears in the game’s latest trailer which was shown at The Game Awards this year, with Mikkelsen presumably playing the villain in the game.

Speaking to IGN in an interview, Mads Mikkelsen had words of praise for Hideo Kojima, saying of the Japanese designer that he’s “a master” and “the Kasparov of video games”, and also added that working with Kojima in a video game “was a wonderful opportunity to dive into that world”. And clearly Mikkelsen must think Kojima is one of the best at what he does, having compared him to former world chess champion Garry Kasparov, even if the chess grandmaster retired from the sport back in 2005.

While video game fans will undoubtedly be pleased with the fact that Mads Mikkelsen will be appearing in Death Stranding, though, he’s not the only big-name actor who will feature in the game. Norman Reedus of The Walking Dead fame will also appear in Death Stranding, and so will Kojima’s friend and Silent Hills collaborator Guillermo del Toro, who also featured in The Game Awards trailer for the game.

And here’s hoping Mads Mikkelsen and his fellow actors will get to shine in Kojima’s upcoming game, which is already looking like it could be one of the most original video games to grace the PS4 when it’s released in the future.
