4. Call of Duty: Infinite Warfare (2016)

This Call of Duty in space wasn’t as bad as some have made it to be.

Some have dismissed this Call of Duty instalment as a poor Halo clone. And while it’s true that Infinity Ward’s sci-fi Call of Duty game wasn’t that well received by fans, it did have some positive qualities. For starters, it featured a strong single player campaign which let you choose which missions to tackle next at some points, adding quite a bit of replay value. And no matter how much Infinite Warfare’s sci-fi setting was reviled by some, the Star Wars-style space combat sequences were still fun to play through.

The multiplayer was the weak link though, as it was largely a rehash of what had been offered in the earlier Call of Duty: Black Ops III. Mind you, it was still fast-paced and fun, and featured a cool variety of maps, but nothing Call of Duty veterans had not seen before. Nonetheless, the unique sci-fi setting and strong single-player campaign means Infinite Warfare is still one of the more interesting Call of Duty offerings you can pick up for your PS4 today.
