2. Bloodborne

Bloodborne was certainly one of the scariest games of 2015, as Japanese designer Hidetaka Miyazaki delivered a horror action-adventure game with a Lovecraftian atmosphere and a world full of nightmarish monsters.

And as is the norm with Miyazaki’s games, Bloodborne is hard as nails, and definitely one of the most challenging video games you can play today. But the sense of achievement one enjoyed when defeating tough boss monsters like the towering Cleric Beast of the devious Pthumerian Queen was great, and unlocking that elusive checkpoint after hours of battling through enemies was hugely rewarding. And given the game’s superb visuals, creepy soundscape and great gameplay, there’s no doubt that Bloodborne was a top PS4 exclusive and one of the year’s video game gems.
