The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt will be “more visually stunning” on Xbox One X, says dev

There is no doubt that The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt left many gamers breathless back in 2015. Actually, the game not only garnered ace reviews but was loved by players worldwide due to its mature storyline, superb characters, gameplay and phenomenal graphics.

And those looking to pick up an Xbox One X this November will also be happy to know that The Witcher 3 is currently being enhanced by developer CD Projekt Red, so that it looks even better on Microsoft’s upcoming console.

So said lead developer Jakub Kutrzuba in an interview with Xbox Wire, stating that The Witcher 3 on Xbox One will feature several visual enhancements like higher resolution textures and more detailed shadows amongst other things, and will be “more visually stunning” on the Xbox One X.

Of course, the key feature here is that The Witcher 3 will run at 4K resolution on the Xbox One X, something that will please those who invested in an expensive ultra-high definition TV earlier this year. Although CD Projekt’s Kutrzuba failed to mention whether this will be true native 4K or a “checkerboard” approximation as is the case with the PS4 Pro version of the game.

Nonetheless, the game will still look great on high definition screens according to Kutrzuba. “Thanks to supersampling, the leap in quality will be visible even on a 1080p screen”, said the CD Projekt dev, while the power of Microsoft’s new Xbox One X means that the game will also run better overall.

So, those who haven’t played The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt and are planning to buy an Xbox One X and get hold of the game this fall are surely in for a treat then, as they will get a chance to experience what could be the best version yet of one of the best role-playing video games made to date.
