These are Mass Effect Andromeda’s preorder goodies

The Mass Effect games have garnered a following throughout the years, as these are considered some of the best sci-fi role-playing games ever made, even if their third-person action wasn’t always that great though.

But still, Mass Effect fans have not gotten to play another entry in the series since 2012’s Mass Effect 3 came out, a game that was rightfully (or wrongfully, depending on who you ask) criticized due to its somewhat uninspired ending… But now Canadian outfit Bioware is gearing up to release Mass Effect Andromeda, the first Mass Effect game to grace new-gen consoles, and one that’s looking pretty great judging by the gameplay and story trailers we have gotten to see so far.

It remains to be seen, though, whether Bioware can capture the magic of the earlier Mass Effect games and deliver another winner with Mass Effect Andromeda, but at least those who preorder the game will receive a series of digital goodies as seen in the trailer below.

These include a deep space explorer armour, which will surely make the game’s protagonist Ryder look as cool as Commander Shepard did in the earlier Mass Effect games, and a new skin for the Nomad, the all-terrain vehicle that players will be using to explore planetary surfaces in Mass Effect Andromeda. Although hopefully the Nomad will be a joy to drive in this upcoming game unlike the Mako vehicle in the original Mass Effect, which did not handle too well overall…

There’s also the multiplayer booster pack, which could give players who preorder the game an edge in multiplayer matches, plus we also get a first glimpse at Andromeda’s multiplayer gameplay in this trailer. This might turn out to be a fun side diversion, even if it’s clear that the meat of the game will be in the single player campaign.

Of course, even if expectations for Mass Effect Andromeda are sky-high, it’s wiser to avoid preordering in general and wait for reviews and user opinions before making a purchase, although it’s clear that Mass Effect Andromeda is shaping up to be one of the year’s top video game hits when it ships next month.
