This is when Detroit: Become Human will be hitting the PS4

Detroit: Become Human is, without a doubt, one of the most eagerly awaited games hitting the PlayStation 4 this year.

Made by studio Quantic Dream, the game is set in a future world where human-like androids are used as slave labour, manufactured to serve their human masters throughout their lives… Things change though, when the androids begin to develop sentience and choose to revolt, the consequences of this can be seen in the game’s preview video below.

Like earlier games from director David Cage and his team at Quantic Dream, Detroit: Become Human will feature choice and consequence gameplay, with the story progressing along different paths depending on your choices in the game.

What’s interesting here is that you get to play as different characters throughout this futuristic adventure, and some can even die throughout the course of the story as was the case with Quantic Dream’s earlier hit Heavy Rain.

So, given Quantic Dream’s pedigree, and Detroit: Become Human’s interesting premise, story and characters, it is not surprising that this is one of the most eagerly awaited games of the year, then. And fans of French studio Quantic Dream will be happy to know that publisher Sony has finally revealed a release date for the game, as Detroit: Become Human will be launching on May 25, 2018 exclusively for Sony’s PS4 console.

It remains to be seen, though, whether Detroit will be as good as earlier games from French studio Quantic Dream like Heavy Rain, Beyond: Two Souls and their early hit Fahrenheit (known across the pond as Indigo Prophecy). But it would be a great thing if Quantic Dream’s upcoming game lived up to the hype, and turned out to be the thrilling video game fans of the French studio are hoping for when it finally hits shelves this Spring.
