10. Final Fantasy XV

Aranea Highwind is Final Fantasy’s new villainess.

The Final Fantasy series is one of the longest-running and most-loved video game series of all time, so it is logical that the upcoming Final Fantasy XV is high on many gamer’s wish lists for this year. And not only was the game one of the star attractions at last year’s Tokyo Game Show, but the preview videos shown so far look very promising, showcasing the game’s open-world gameplay and combat.

And the game’s combat is shaping up to be great, with the gameplay video below showing the game’s stealth gameplay, as Noctis and his team infiltrate a base, silently taking down enemies before all hell breaks loose and new villainess Aranea Highwind shows up to deal with Noctis and his party. The combat, which features melee weapons, magic and tactics involving multiple party members, certainly looks great, and hopefully this will be one Final Fantasy game that does the series proud when it’s released later this year.

Release date: September 30, 2016. Available on PS4 and Xbox One. Update: the game is rumoured to be getting a PC release too.
