7. Horizon: Zero Dawn

Protagonist Aloy will be searching for the secrets of a lost civilization in Horizon: Zero Dawn, one of 2017’s most eagerly awaited games.

Horizon: Zero Dawn is another upcoming video game offering open-world gameplay, crafting and character progression, much like Ubisoft’s Far Cry series does. But this game by Killzone makers Guerrilla Games clearly stands out from the pack due to its interesting female protagonist Aloy and beautiful-looking sci-fi world.

Actually, Horizon: Zero Dawn’s post-apocalyptic setting is one of the most interesting to feature in a video game in years, as the game’s world is dominated by giant machines resembling robotic dinosaurs, while human tribes such as protagonist Aloy’s attempt to survive in a harsh and hostile world. And surely if Horizon: Zero Dawn’s gameplay manages to live up to the game’s interesting story and premise then this could end up being one of the year’s best console games, no doubt.
