5. Battlefield 1

Players will be able to experience early 20th century warfare in Battlefield 1.

One of the most remarkable  things about this upcoming Battlefield game is it’s setting, as it takes place in the early 20th century during World War I. So unlike the Call of Duty franchise which has been pushing into sci-fi territory more and more each year, Battlefield 1 will instead offer good-old fashioned trench warfare, biplane dogfights and even cavalry charges with swords…

Of course, this doesn’t mean that the game will be slow-paced or dull, as early trailers show that the game’s first-person action will be intense and varied, plus Battlefield 1 will also offer the series’ traditional multiplayer modes in addition to the single player campaign. And given that developer DICE has taken a risk with the game’s setting, it would be great if Battlefield turned out to be a great old-school shooter when it arrives this October.
