Half-Life and its glorious sequel Half-Life 2 are probably two of the best first-person action games ever made, and have achieved cult status amongst gamers. After all, characters like Gordon Freeman and the attractive Alyx Vance are some of the best-known in gaming. So many people were in a stupor when website tweaktown.com reported that Canadian technology giant NVidia had purchased Valve, together with the company’s game IPs for “an undisclosed sum of money”.

But what was most shocking was that according to the website behind the story, Half-Life 3 was in the works and would be released on March the 3rd, 2016. And if that release date wasn’t clue enough (and the fact that the story ran on April 1st), it was all an April Fools joke, so the rumour died out pretty quickly. Although it would be great if Valve would listen to its fans and someday release the much desired Half-Life 3…
