War for the Planet of the Apes trailer shows war between humans and apes will end with a bang

The new Planet of the Apes movies have certainly lived up to the earlier ones released in the 60’s, with 2011’s Rise of the Planet of the Apes and the later Dawn of the Planet of the Apes being amongst the best sci-fi films to have hit the theatres in the last few years.

So it’s logical that fans of the sci-fi genre and of the Apes movies in particular are looking forward to the upcoming War for the Planet of the Apes, which is slated for release in summer 2017. And as can be seen in the movie’s international trailer below, ape protagonist Caesar (Andy Serkis) will be up against a new enemy in this movie, as he will face the leader of the last remaining humans, a colonel played by American actor Woody Harrelson.

This trailer also suggest that the war between humans and apes might end with a bang, as it looks like this will be a more action-packed movie than its predecessors and its likely to feature big, spectacular battles between Caesar’s apes and the Colonel’s for control of a war-ravaged planet. Of course, fans of the Planet of the Apes movies already know which side comes on top, and the movie’s title itself suggests Earth becomes a planet ruled by apes in the end…

But still, this is likely a movie no fan of the series or of science fiction will want to miss when it hits the theatres next summer.
