Right now, Pokémon Go is a smartphone-only game with augmented reality features, which is available on both Apple’s App Store and Google Play. It’s a free to play game, but like other smartphone game hits like Game of War: Fire Age and Clash of Clans, it includes microtransactions, which let you spend real money in the game to speed up your progress.

Pokémon Go is only available for smartphones right now though, but given Nintendo’s involvement, will we see the game become available for other platforms like handhelds or consoles? It seems feasible that a version of Pokémon Go might eventually be released for Nintendo’s 3DS handheld, and if their upcoming NX console is more of a mobile gaming platform than a traditional console like the Wii U, perhaps we might even see Pokémon Go on the NX in the future.
