Angelina Jolie was a great Lara Croft in 2003’s Tomb Raider: The Cradle of Life.

Actress Angelina Jolie is one of the biggest names in movies, and one of the highest paid and most sought-after actresses in Hollywood. She’s obviously a talented performer too, as she proved with her role in the 1999 drama film Girl, Interrupted.

And when it came to choosing an actress with the physique and talent to play the greatest video game heroine of all time, director Simon West settled on Jolie for his Lara Croft: Tomb Raider movie. The movie wasn’t a hit with the critics as is the case with most video game movies, although Jolie played the role with gusto and was mightily convincing as lady Croft. A sequel (The Cradle of Life) upped the ante when it came to action, with Angelina Jolie reprising her role in that 2003 movie too.
