Hangar 13, the studio behind the game, also removed most of the open-world gameplay of its predecessor, with this being a mostly linear experience. Although a recent patch lets you roam Sicily, and at least gives you some optional activities to do. The gameplay, though, is firmly stuck in the past, the shooting and knife fights being a bit clunky and not that much fun. So this obviously doesn’t replace Mafia 2 as the new king of the series, actually it is the weakest entry yet, and something of a disappointment for Mafia fans this year.
