Top 5 Xbox One Features Helping Microsoft’s Console Catch up with the PS4
5. DVR functionality
Although Microsoft lost ground to Sony’s PS4
when they marketed the Xbox One as a “multimedia machine” vs Sony’s no-nonsense “games machine” approach for their PS4, most gamers will probably still welcome the One’s new DVR functionality, which will be available in 2016. This allows users to record free over-the-air TV (from an antenna), using the TV tuner available for Microsoft’s console.
Although sadly the new DVR features won’t support satellite or cable TV (and will also require an external hard drive according to Microsoft), but will enable users to schedule recordings so that they take place when you are away from the console, as well as streaming recorded shows to Windows 10 devices.
