10. Directive 8020

Supermassive Games are known for the likes of Until Dawn and The Quarry, and also for their Dark Pictures games. The British studio will be releasing a new entry in their Dark Pictures Anthology of horror games this year, with Directive 8020 being their first game set in space. The trailer below, titled “Trust No One”, shows that the people at Supermassive have been inspired by famous sci-fi horror flick The Thing. There’s an alien creature on the colony ship Cassiopeia that mimics the crew, meaning players will be faced with difficult choices regarding who to trust in order to stay alive…

Actually, as in previous Supermassive games you’ll be playing as several characters here, and any of them can meet an untimely end at some point in this sci-fi adventure. But given that this Dark Pictures game has a new feature that allows players to go back and undo their decisions, you can make a different choice – or you can live with the consequences of your actions (in space nobody can hear you scream as is often said…). Either way, here’s hoping this will be another great Supermassive game when it arrives later this year.

Release date: October 2, 2025. Available on PS5, Xbox Series X/S and PC. Update: Directive 8020 has been delayed. It will now launch in the second half of 2026.
