1. Grand Theft Auto: San Andreas
The infamous “Hot Coffee” sex controversy certainly got everyone talking about video game sex (or the silliness of it at least). “Hot Coffee” actually refers to a patch that was released for Grand Theft Auto: San Andreas, which enabled PC users to unlock several hidden sex mini-games in the game. These games show protagonist CJ Johnson getting intimate with the women he could date in the game, and was named “Hot Coffee” because at some point in the game CJ’s girlfriend would ask him whether he wished to come into her apartment for coffee, obviously referring to sex.
The powers that be were offended and the game’s rating was changed to AO (Adults Only), meaning that thousands of copies of the game had to be removed from shelves. This is sad, considering that the “Hot Coffee” sex was rather tame by anyone’s standards.
