5. Skyrim Flora Overhaul

If you are a botanist or a plant nut you will love this mod. But there are real plants out there.

This is another user mod that tries to make Skyrim’s world prettier. You probably remember how pretty the vegetation in the game looked, with tall imposing trees and luscious grass. But this user mod actually attempts to improve the vegetation in the game, by adding: “more varied and better looking flora” such as “wind bent pines, maple and aspen”. So I envisioned myself playing the game, and walking in one of Skyrim’s great forests, delighted to be seeing all of these beautiful trees.

But the reality is different. While playing with the mod installed, I never paid attention to the trees. Beautifying the plants in a video game is a noble goal if you have the time and dedication and the love for plants. But most players won’t pay attention to the foliage because Skyrim is not a virtual reality experience, it is a role playing video game! The Dragonborn is not a botanist, he is a hero out to save the world.
