1. It’s Star Wars
When all’s been said and done though, the truth of the matter is that The Force Awakens is the first Star Wars movie viewers will get to see in a decade. After all, George Lucas’ Revenge of the Sith hit the theatres back in 2005, and Star Wars fans have been itching to see a new movie in the series since then.
And no matter how successful the prequel films were, it is clear that fans have fonder memories of the original trilogy, and thankfully J.J. Abrams new movie is based on the earlier films and brings back the original cast of Mark Hamill, Carrie Fisher and Harrison Ford. But it is also clear that The Force Awakens would be a hit even if it turned out to be a poor movie. After all, Star Wars is part of the popular culture, from its legendary crawl text to John Williams’ renowned score, so there’s really no way that this movie can fail. And if this turns out to be the best Star Wars film ever made, then moviegoers surely are in for a treat when it hits the theatres in December…
