Battlefield 1 E3 gameplay trailer shows spectacular WWI action

Many gamers were excited when Swedish developer DICE revealed that their next Battlefield game would be set during World War I, a conflict that took place more than a hundred years ago. This was certainly a far cry from the sci-fi space setting of the next Call of Duty game, and was welcomed by fans of first-person shooter games tired of futuristic technology and weapons in action video games.

And now EA and DICE have released a new trailer for their upcoming shooter during the E3 show in Los Angeles, proving those naysayers who thought that a WWI would be too slow and boring wrong, as it shows a lot of fast-paced and spectacular first-person action during its 2 minute length.

During the trailer, we get to see ground combat involving the massive, wedge shaped tanks of the early 20th century, but also interesting is the fact that players will be able to control artillery pieces to fire at enemy positions, while at some point we also see the player character shooting at enemies from a motorbike…

Also, it looks like the game will offer big aerial battles with players getting to pilot the biplanes of the period and even take down one of the massive airships seen in the trailer.

All in all, it is clear that Battlefield 1 is one of the most promising video games to be released this year, and hopefully it will be a great first-person action game that will please fans of the genre when it hits the shelves this October.

Note: Battlefield 1 will be released on October 21, 2016. Available on PS4, Xbox One and PC.
