While Bethesda’s earlier games like The Elder Scrolls IV: Oblivion had pretty poor characters with little personality, their latest Fallout game is certainly miles ahead of their earlier efforts. Fallout 4 features a pretty great cast of characters that can tag along for the ride, including the quick-witted journalist Piper and the sombre detective Nick Valentine. And even the cute canine Dogmeat has an engaging personality…
But perhaps The Witcher 3 has deeper, better realised characters, and the double-crossing Bloody Baron and the emperor of Nilfgaard, voiced by actor Charles Dance, are amongst the most memorable characters in gaming so far. And let’s not forget the witcher Geralt himself, a conflicted man that must make plenty of difficult choices in the war-ravaged land of Temeria.
