9. Solo: A Star Wars Story ($393 million)
Star Wars fans were looking forward to this origin story starring their favorite rogue Han Solo. And everything you expect is present and correct: from how Han met his long-time partner Chewbacca to how he won the Millenium Falcon in a card game against Lando Calrissian, there’s plenty of fan service in this movie. Also, Lando as played by actor Donald Glover is one of the high points of the movie, and so is Solo’s mentor Tobias Beckett.
But the actor playing Han Solo (Alden Ehrenreich) sadly only delivers a so-so performance, and supporting players like a droid named L3-37 and crime lord Dryden Vos are not that good either. A heist on a train at some point in the movie should be more exciting too, meaning this is a decent Star Wars spin-off but not on a par with the earlier Rogue One: A Star Wars Story.
