Skyrim fan to be immortalised in next Elder Scrolls game

Ever since The Elder Scrolls: Arena was released in 1994, The Elder Scrolls series has been going from strength to strength. Actually, this role-playing franchise has millions of followers worldwide, while the latest game in the series The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim is undoubtedly one of the most popular video games ever made, and arguably the best role-playing game of all time.

So it’s likely many gamers worldwide will be eager to join Bethesda in its celebration of The Elder Scrolls’ 25th anniversary. After all, this is a series which has provided some incredible gaming moments over the years, from riding a horse in the now classic Elder Scrolls IV: Oblivion to hunting dragons in Skyrim, or exploring Seyda Neen in Morrowind, these games sure were a blast back in the day.

But there’s one Elder Scrolls fan who could be feeling happier than most now, as grandma Shirley Curry will actually be appearing in the next Elder Scrolls game as was recently reported on Eurogamer.

It all started when the 82 year old posted a comment in response to a Pete Hine interview video, saying that by the time the new Elder Scrolls game came out she would be like 88, and too old to play the game…

Fans of Curry (who runs a popular YouTube channel in which she plays the Elder Scrolls games) setup a Change.org petition for her to appear in the next Elder Scrolls game, with said petition gathering enough signatures for Bethesda to take notice.

Actually, Shirley recently made a trip to Bethesda’s studios for a motion capture session, as she’ll be lending her likenesses and voice to one of The Elder Scrolls VI’s NPCs (she’s seen doing this at around the 8:40 mark in the video below).

Mind you, it will still be a long time before The Elder Scrolls VI hits shelves – as Bethesda itself recently admitted, the game is still a long while away, while the company won’t even be discussing this next Elder Scrolls game at the E3 show this year either. It would be a great thing though, if The Elder Scrolls VI lived up to expectations, and even managed to surpass the world-conquering Skyrim when it releases sometime in the future.
