3. Control Resonant

Control was one of 2019’s biggest video game hits, and now Finnish developer Remedy Entertainment is gearing up to release a sequel this year. Control Resonant will feature a new protagonist, Dylan Faden, the brother of the first game’s protagonist Jesse Faden. Like his sister, he will also wield a transforming weapon known as “the Aberrant”. This morphing weapon can change forms, becoming a huge hammer amongst other things which Dylan can use to take down the evil creatures haunting Manhattan…

You see, while the first game’s action was confined to a building (the Federal Bureau of Control building) here you’ll roam the streets of Manhattan dealing not only with the all-corrupting supernatural force known as “the Hiss” but also with “the Mold” which according to Remedy’s description is an “invasive micro-organism”. The game’s latest gameplay trailer does look great, so hopefully this will be an excellent sequel to Control gamers will have fun with this year.

Release date: Summer 2026. Available on PS5, Xbox Series X/S and PC.
