4. Starfield

“But Starfield came out back in 2023!” I hear you scream… True, but Bethesda’s game could still be one of the top video game releases of 2026. Microsoft is gearing up to launch a PS5 version of Starfield this year, which will likely be accompanied by a second expansion which will presumably be titled “Terran Armada”. And after last year’s disappointing Shattered Space expansion, fans are hoping Bethesda delivers a meaty add-on with Terran Armada.

Even more exciting is that the sci-fi role-playing game could be getting a significant update according to rumors, which the game’s existing Xbox and PC versions will also get (besides the expansion, of course). This update could be on a par with the one CD Projekt’s futuristic role-playing game Cyberpunk got, which massively upgraded the game in several areas, or it could be something less dramatic that for instance solves the issue of Starfield having too many loading screens when travelling between different locations in the galaxy… Plus, a Nintendo Switch 2 version means gamers will also have fun exploring the galaxy on the go come its rumored spring release date.

Release date: Spring 2026. Available on PS5, Xbox Series X/S, PC and Nintendo Switch 2.
