6. Fatal Frame II: Crimson Butterfly Remake
The camera protagonist Mio uses to fight wraiths in the game (the “camera obscura”) has a new “fatal frame” shot which can deal massive damage to the evil spirits, as seen in the gameplay video below. Also, a new feature lets you use the camera to locate hidden paths (and also lost objects) making exploring the sinister Minakami village more interesting. Plus, a new gameplay mechanic lets Mio and her sister hold hands to recover their health, and have a higher chance of surviving when things get hairy in this survival horror game. All in all, this Fatal Frame 2 remake has the potential to be one of the year’s top games when it arrives next month no doubt.
Release date: March 12, 2026. Available on PS5, Xbox Series X/S, PC and Nintendo Switch 2.
