7. Danganronpa 2×2

It seems that rumors of Danganronpa’s death were greatly exaggerated, as the visual novel series will be getting another entry this year. Danganronpa 2×2 will not only include a full remake of Danganronpa 2: Goodbye Despair, but also a new scenario based on the 2012 game. This makes sense taking into account that gamers might not want to play through the same story again, although some diehard fans will want to relive the original with revamped graphics and modern gameplay enhancements.

As the series’ villain Monokuma explains in the video below, the new scenario features the same setting and characters as in Danganronpa 2, but things play out differently due to a “certain incident”. This means there will be different victims and killers then, and you’ll have to figure out “whodunit” in the game’s class trials, which will hopefully be as exciting as those of the 2012 game when this remake hits shelves later in 2026.
