9. Broken Sword – The Smoking Mirror: Reforged
This sequel to Broken Sword took protagonists George Stobbart and Nicole Collard to Central America, Marseilles, the Caribbean and other locations, in order to unravel the mystery of the “smoking mirror”, an ancient artefact of Mayan origin… These locations will likely look better than ever thanks to the 4K makeover. Moments like dealing with a tarantula spider early in the game and others will likely be even more enjoyable than in the original. Like the previous Broken Sword remaster, there’s a ”classic mode” for purists which does not offer the player assistance (no hints for instance), while you can also switch between the original and modern graphics at the touch of a button, great for the trip down memory lane this promises when it arrives early this year.
Release date: Early 2026. Available on PS5, Xbox Series X/S, PC, Xbox One and Nintendo Switch.
