6. Code Vein 2

Code Vein (a Bandai Namco game from 2019) was an interesting Soulslike game that failed to set the world alight, but sold enough copies to warrant a sequel. And Code Vein II, like the original game before it, features a convoluted plot involving Revenants: a sort of vampire which dwells in the game’s fantasy world. These have been turning into “horrors”, the only way of stopping these mindless monsters and the subsequent destruction of the world being to travel to the past in order to prevent this calamity…

So players take the role of a Revenant hunter here, who will time travel together with a girl named Lou Magwell, jumping between past and present to save the world, as seen in the story trailer below. Players will be able to drain the blood of their adversaries during combat to power special attacks, facing big and tough enemies like in the original game. The Zelda: Ocarina of Time time-travel mechanic and improved presentation could make this stand above its predecessor when this ships in early 2026 though.

Release date: January 30, 2026. Available on PS5, Xbox Series X/S and PC.
