The Double Dragon series launched in arcades back in the 80’s, and the original Double Dragon is a “beat ‘em up” game many remember playing. And developer Arc System Works is now looking to bring the series kicking and screaming into the 21st century with Double Dragon Revive. This new entry in the Double Dragon series will boast modern 3D graphics as seen in the trailer below, and is slated for release in fall 2025.
This means Double Dragon fans will get to play as the Lee brothers again, while the controls have been refined, and this won’t be a “simple button-masher” according to Arc System Works as the gameplay will require “adaptation and variety”, which could draw newcomers to the series if this Double Dragon game lives up to the hype.
