This year’s Game Awards show honoured the year’s top releases, with The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt video game from CD Projekt Red winning the Game of the Year award, while other games like the indie title Rocket League, which picked up two awards, were also amongst the highlights.

But gamers also got to see previews of major upcoming titles like Ubisoft’s Far Cry Primal and the upcoming action-adventure game Quantum Break, which are likely to be amongst the top video game releases next year. Here follows a list of the top 5 games previewed at The Game Awards 2015.

1. Far Cry Primal

After the hit that Far Cry 4 was in 2014, Ubisoft will release another Far Cry game set 10,000 years ago, after the last Ice Age. This means that players will be wielding spears and bows while fighting (and perhaps riding…) the likes of sabretooth tigers and woolly mammoths. But can a Far Cry game be great without the modern-day weaponry that players are accustomed to seeing in the series?

The game will likely play similarly to the Shangri-La missions in Far Cry 4, so those acquainted with Ubisoft’s previous game already know what to expect, and a new gameplay video released at this year’s Game Awards shows the epic action featured in this prehistoric Far Cry game, which will hit the shelves next year.

Release date: February 23, 2016. Available on PS4, Xbox One and PC.
