Another Call of Duty game is coming this year (as expected by millions of fans). This will also be the first time in which Activision releases back to back titles in the Black Ops series, with Call of Duty: Black Ops 7 arriving later this year. The game, though, despite being a successor to Black Ops 6, is set a decade after the events of Call of Duty: Black Ops 2 and features a near future setting. The campaign, which can be played in co-op mode, casts players as David Mason, who will be up against “a manipulative enemy who weaponizes fear above all else” (a Donald Trump clone maybe…). There’s also a company known as “the guild”, headed by a mysterious character known as Emma Kagan who is seen in the teaser trailer below.
The game’s multiplayer will also feature a refined version of the “omnimovement” system seen in 2024’s game, plus zombies mode will be making a return this year in the same round-based cooperative format. This will also be on Game Pass like the previous entry, but will it match the quality of last year’s Black Ops game?
Release date: Fall 2025. Available on PS5, PS4, PC, Xbox Series X/S and Xbox One (also on Xbox Game Pass).
