7. Ghost of Yotei

The eagerly anticipated sequel to Ghost of Tsushima is landing this year. But while both games are set in Japan, Ghost of Yotei takes place hundreds of years later, after the Mongol invasion seen in the first game, on the island of Hokkaido. Mount Yotei (which gives the game is name) can be found on the Japanese island, where the game’s protagonist Atsu is on a revenge mission. She will be going after the people who murdered her family in feudal Japan – and this having a female protagonist is something that sets Ghost of Yotei apart from its predecessor too…

The game, though, is likely to offer the same open world thrills as Ghost of Tsushima, and will likely be a beautiful game to look at as developer Sucker Punch has promised. This will be a PS5 exclusive on release though, but is likely to hit the PC at some point in the future like Ghost of Tsushima did. Nonetheless, if the US developer delivers another epic story coupled with hard-hitting combat and interesting characters in a feudal Japan setting, then gamers will be in for a treat no doubt.
