Evony is the infamous free online multiplayer game, a strategy game similar to the old Microsoft Age of Empires games. And the company behind it is probably a leader in misleading sex-based advertising, as the game’s ads look fitting for an adult magazine or movie (as a matter of fact they feature former adult stars from the 90’s, believe it or not).

But it seems this sort of sex-based advertising that exploits women is very effective, as according to the game’s website the game boasts a whopping 18 million players. Bikini-clad ladies or even female models wearing just their underwear have graced the game’s ads, and the game’s tagline of “Come play, my lord” sure served to draw a loyal following. And it’s not like Evony is bland or boring, it is actually quite an entertaining real time strategy game set in medieval times, and a worthy competitor to the likes of Game of War…
