Those who were expecting Bethesda to reveal another game in the Elder Scrolls series at this year’s E3 are in for a disappointment, as the video game company’s next major game will instead be another Fallout game.

Actually, a teaser video released this week gives us a first look at Fallout 76, a sci-fi video game which is on the works at Bethesda Game Studios, the people behind games like The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim and Fallout 4.

As a matter of fact, Fallout 76 will likely be a sequel to the role-playing hit Fallout 4, but it remains to be seen whether this will turn out to be another open world RPG like the 2015 game was or something entirely different instead.

The latter possibility is very real though, as sources close to Kotaku say this will be very different from previous games, with Fallout 76 supposedly being an online survival RPG instead of the traditional single player experience we have come to expect from the people at Bethesda.

There’s not much more to wait in order to hear more from Bethesda itself though, as the Maryland-based company will be revealing more details about Fallout 76 during its E3 presentation on June 10.

Regarding a release date, it’s very likely we won’t have to wait that long for Fallout 76 to hit shelves. Actually, its predecessor Fallout 4 was announced just before E3 2015, and was released in fall that year, so here’s hoping we get to play this latest Fallout game sooner rather than later, and that this turns out to be another good entry in the much-loved franchise too.
