One of the most eagerly awaited video games of the year will be released next week, as Guerrilla Games’ Horizon: Zero Dawn will be hitting shelves on February 28 in the US, and March 1 in Europe.

And in order to whet players’ appetite for the game, Sony has now put out a launch trailer, which although does not show actual gameplay footage, gives players a taste of Horizon: Zero Dawn’s strange post-apocalyptic world.

We also see the game’s red-haired protagonist Aloy in action, an athletic and skilful woman who’s not afraid to tackle Horizon: Zero Dawn’s strange robotic creatures in combat. And Aloy could certainly end up becoming an iconic PlayStation character if Horizon: Zero Dawn turns out to be hit and gamers end up loving the game as much as reviewers did.

Actually, the game currently has a Metacritic score of 88, which is certainly impressive for a new IP like this one, plus this is also Dutch developer Guerrilla Games’ first attempt at an open-world game, making Horizon: Zero Dawn’s quality and scope even more impressive.

The game offers a mix of third-person action gameplay and role-playing in an atmospheric and unique post-apocalyptic setting, and hopefully Guerrilla’s latest masterpiece will be well-received by video game fans when it hits shelves next week.
