It’s one of the year’s most eagerly awaited games for sure, and thankfully developer From Software’s latest game is only a couple of weeks away from release now.
It’s another matter, though, whether Sekiro: Shadows Die will live up to From Software’s and Hidetaka Miyazaki’s earlier games. This is because the Japanese designer’s earlier releases are some of the best action and adventure games ever made, including the likes of Demon Souls, Dark Souls and the highly esteemed PS4 exclusive Bloodborne.
And like these games, Sekiro will also have huge enemies to do battle with, as can be seen in the trailer below. Actually, the giant serpent seen in the video below does give me God of War vibes – although it would be hard to blame Sekiro’s developers for looking at Sony’s game for inspiration after all the praise it received last year.
Aside from the battles with huge monsters we now know this latest Miyazaki game will feature, another interesting aspect of Sekiro: Shadows Die Twice is the fact that the game will have a voiced protagonist, unlike the likes of the Dark Souls games which featured silent characters as their leads.
It remains to be seen, though, whether Sekiro’s fantasy version of medieval Japan, huge monsters and third-person action make this a game people won’t soon forget, but thankfully there’s not much longer to wait in order to find out whether this will live up to Miyazaki’s finest when it comes out this year.
Note: Sekiro: Shadows Die Twice will be released on March 22, 2019. Available on PS4, Xbox One and PC.
