Journey offered one of the most haunting and enjoyable experiences of 2012, but it was over a bit too soon.
Many reviewers considered Journey a work of art back in 2012, and it’s clear this game was a beautiful experience from beginning to end, even if it all was over a bit too soon. The game featured atmospheric environments like underground caves and golden deserts, with players controlling a robed figure that was attempting to reach a massive mountain on the horizon.
And even if the gameplay was simplistic as it involved little more than gliding and jumping, it was still a great experience. Journey got a remastered edition in 2015 featuring improved visuals and audio, something which made the game’s great but short journey an even more enjoyable experience.
